You can use two push pull knobs for the two regular humbuckers and you can install a mini switch for the small humbucker ....... :D

Coil tap: makes the humbuckers work with only one coil instead of 2 coils....I think.....

A coil tapped pickup is one that has 2 or more hot leads exiting at different percentages of the total wind in order to provide multiple output levels and tones.
A split pickup is the process of grounding out one of the 2 coils of a humbucker, thereby producing a single coil sound.
I hope this clears it up for you!!

You could also have 2 pickups going to 1 pot for coil splitting. I did that on an Ibanez that I had with 3 pups 1 volume and 1 tone. Technically you could hook up all 3 pups to one switch and then all pups would be single coils at the same time. All depends on what you want to do and how you go about it.

Zactly. You beat me to it: most of us say coil tapping, when what we're really talking about is coil splitting.

But we know what we mean.

Pedants' corner: come join the party!

Cheers - C

PS: I'd go with Ron's suggestion of running all the splits from one push-pull knob. I bet there's a wiring diagram over at Seymour Duncan's website...
