I bought a maple fingerboard blizzard pearl 2008 Stratocaster and I love it. It has a fat neck which takes a bit of getting used to. I put on a white pearloid pickguard. Before that I bought a Rosewood fingerboard sunburst VG Stratocaster that I think is so cool.

Very nice. I like that new blizzard pearl color.

Fat neck though? Compared to what other guitar? It should have a rather thin modern c neck.

Go play a Les Paul if you want to feel a fat neck, feels like a baseball bat to me.

That is what I am saying. It takes some getting used to.
My VG Strat and all of my other Strats have slimmer necks so this one takes some getting used to.
For some reason Fender started putting fatter necks on their Standard American Stratocasters because I have tried several new ones that are like that. I have played other guitars with much fatter necks than on my latest Strat and the Jeff Beck Strat has a big baseball neck on it probably because Jeff Beck has big hands and a smaller neck feels too cramped to him. You can get Gibson Les Pauls with either 50's necks which are bigger or 60's necks which are slim and you can get Les Pauls that are half the weight because the bodies are chambered. It is all about what you are used to. I do have 3 Les Pauls but the necks are comfortable too. I have more Strats than Les Pauls.
