if they do something about the tax on plane fuel it could be worth going out just for a setup holiday.

£50 -> $100.

If I can remember rightly, it included a fret polish/dress, fretboard polish, nut reshape, electronics check, + the usual action, intonation, new strings.

Quite expensive but its a one time thing for a new guitar (IMO necessary) and I'd rather give the business to my local shop than a chain store. Anyway, it was money well spent, played absolutely amazing compared to how it was setup before!

I'm really good friends with the guys in my local Guitar Room, they do it for me for $25. Otherwise it would be $50.

$45 for a setup with my local shop and he is a silver certified Fender Tech. I don't know exactly what the silver certification is but it is really important to him and the shop that he maintains that certification.

I get it done for $25 + strings. And I get to watch and ask questions so I have been learning a lot....

Hey,
It depends on who you go to. My local guitar shop guy will do it for about $25 because he sold me the guitar and knows I come in for strings and accessories all the time. This is the reason I'll spend a few more bux for a guitar at the local shop rather than going to places like GC (if they have what you want). Good service goes a long way.
I replaced my strat neck and my normal guy wasn't in town. It cost me $50 at another shop.

I just north of Houston, Texas. $45-$75 depending on the shop/Tech. I do my own set up with my Fender. I'll pay for my ESP because of the Floyd Rose. Not that I cannot do it...just a pain the $@!.

Here in my little town in Canada, 80-100 $ done by a professional luthier who really do a awsome job... it really worth it.

Here in the San Fernando Valley, I pay $50 and it's done by a seriously great tech. This includes coming back a time or two (within reason) for any minor fine-tuning you might want. For a "going price," I've seen $45 - $55 in general.

Average wait time, unless you're in a hurry, runs about 5 days with my guy.

Fort Myers Florida $40-$50...

I set mine up myself - a few times badly depending on the guitar.

I had a guy set up my Dimebag Dixie Rebel @ guitar center... He blocked the tremelo for me and everything for 60 bucks-
(I like to dive bomb only-no pull ups)

I usually set up my own strats though... I like Power slinky 11's and my strings half a mile off the frets on a strat. And all four springs in the back!
