Hey every one, im new to this forums, and i am new in the electric guitar world, i have been playing the acoustic guitar for almost 6 years now, and i am looking forward to buy a electric guitar, so i decided to go for fender, because it has a great reputation and nice models. But there is still one question, i cant decide between an american made standard stratocaster or a mexican one.

Can some one tell me what are the differences between these 2 particular models? :D

NOTE:i want to play jazz, blues and iron maiden songs, i think they are metal :D

Go with what you can afford.

You get what you pay for in the world of Fender.

(I have a Mexican classic 50's yet I still want a USA one! Buy cheap buy twice, eh?)

Thanks but still, are they different from each other, or they are only just the same but with lower prices? :?:

They are different. Check out the products pages here on Fender.com and each guitar has a spec sheet.

Hello Engie92,

American=better hardware,pickups and shielding
overall higher level of appearance & feeling.
Comes with supernice modern case.

Mexico=1/2 the price, good looks and well made.
Comes with Gig-bag, often refered to as garbage bag,
useless for transporting, you'll be best off getting a
hardshell.

Best of luck on your choice.

Cheers.

Go for a Highway 1 HSS. Not only are they absolutely beautiful guitars, they sound so sweet. I remember one a few months back I played, I could of swore that was the perfect definition of tone.

And whats great is that even though they're about $300 more than a MiM Strat, they are also about $300 LESS than an American Strat. And what really tops it off is that the HWY 1 series is an American-exclusive guitar series to Fender.

But in the long run, make sure you get what YOU like the best. :D

Welcome Engie92. If you do a search on this board you'll find some very informative posts on this issue. I personally have owned both an '07 MIM Std Strat and currently own an '08 Am Std Strat. I loved my MIM. It played well, looked fantastic (arctic white with maple fretboard, was very light and had a great neck. However, my '08 Am Std is clearly a step up. Sturdier build quality, INCREDIBLE neck and better pickups. If you've got the money, go for the USA. But play as many of each model as you can to see what is best for you.

Have fun shopping.

Go with what you can afford. MIA's Stratocasters are top of the line and MIM's are in the middle. Each is good for for their prices. Play them both, see which you prefer. I got the HWY 1 Stratocaster (in between both), by the way I love mine. Go with what feels best and in your price range.
