I'm totally blown away by the VG Strat! But has anyone found a use for the D-A-D-G-A-D tuning yet? Peronally I would have liked an Eb tuning.

I tried out the VG Stratocaster at the local music store. This thing is a dream come true with all of the acoustic options, humbucker at the twist of a knob etc. I'm guessing the D tuning would be nice if you were using chords in that key and you wouldn't have to be as careful about avoiding the E and A strings. However, I'm sure someone more experienced can explain the benefits better.

Hi all, I picked up my black VG Strat today (to go with my other 4 various strats, and 17 other guitars in all, yes, I am slightly guitar unbalanced!!) and I just want to say that it is fabulous and well done Fender & Roland for being so adventurous and producing this fantastic guitar!
Being in the UK, we tend to pay the same in pounds as you pay in dollars, ie twice as much, but it's worth it for this guitar, you don't realise how lucky you are in the States, and we won't even mention the price of petrol, sorry...gas! (currently around $10 a gallon here, sorry, were not mentioning that are we?, no well, anyway..)
It would be nice though to have some control over the tuning as you say, to switch instantly to a nice blues bottleneck tuning other than an open chord seems an illogical omission. Anyway, thanks again America and Fender! We may make the best cars, but you make the best guitars! (Hey that rhymes, is there a song there....?) Kenny - Par Studios - Cornwall UK

8) My black VG Strat is a month old now. I have polished before the first use, and after each use.
I sold an '84 strat with Texas Humbuckers on it, in order to defray the cost of this guitar. I also am selling my Hamer Newport 12 to help defray the cost.
This guitar sounded better than the '84, and has that 12 sound, close enough to replace the Hamer 12, and easier to play.
I feel like Ted Knight in Caddyshack, as he picked up his prize club, whenever I pick up my new strat.
I need more playing time with this baby to appreciate all it can do. This is less expensive because I require fewer guitars.
Nice job, Fender and Roland. Oh, don't play this guitar through junk amps.
