i have a fender vg strat and when i have it in the drop d mode and play soft (think everlong by foo fighters) the notes sound digitized. that is the only way i can explain it. i think that it may be because the roland pickup can't process the lower strum sound.

then again i could be way off and sounding like a complete idiot.

thanks to anyone who has suggestions or comments or, um.....info.

Well those notes are pitch transposed digitally or something.
Does it sound like that in any other alternate tuning settings?

it does it in every tuning, that's why i said the pickup may not be able to process it because the notes aren't loud enough.

In my limited experience of digital effects they lose a lot of quality when the battery starts dying.
The whole digital effects thing is either working or broke, they only usually lose performance when theres a power supply problem.

What nikininja said, could be bad battery or just a bad connection to the battery.

What amp are you playin' through? What string gauge are you using? Are your volume and tone nobs on the guitar at max? Sorry about so many questions... :) 8)

so don't laugh, but i play through a crate solid state amp. the gauge is whatever they put on at the factory, i just bought the same gauge (i think 16 or 19) i have played for 13 years and i don't really know a lot of technical things about the guitar. i just know how to play.

A crate solidstate amp isnt a laughable amp. Infact for any kind of digitaly processed stuff i insist on solidstate it copes with digital better than valve does.
