I father bought me a Fender Stratocaster and I just don't know much about it. It is a 2000 Fender Stratocaster Deluxe made in Mexico. It is red and has a white pearl pick guard. All the metal components on it are gold plated. Plays great, but I'm just a beginner. What do you guys/gals think?

WOW  . Thats a beaut mate.

I think it was part of the fotoflame range. I could be wrong though, it says deluxe on the headstock. Whatever it is, its a jaw droppingly pretty guitar.

deffo mate. Despite its pretty looks, it looks like a sturdy workhorse too, I'm sure it will serve you well for years to come.

What you have there, my friend, is a Deluxe Player's Strat. That push button between the Tone pots will activate the bridge pickup when the five way switch is in positions 4 and 5, so you can have neck -bridge or all three pickup on at once. That's a lovely guitar. Have a ball.

I agree with a couple of the other guys. It is a Deluxe Players Strat. They used to make alot of them in Grafitti Yellow.

Ditto. Gold hardware, extra pickup positions switch: Deluxe Player. Presumably that is a Crimson Red Transparent finish?

nice,
deluxe players strat, has what looks like an s1 button, however, the pickups, if stock, are vintage noiseless. unsure if they came w/o the noiseless inscription on them in 2000.

besides all that. congrats man. as a beginner, you are lucky to have a father who bought you your 1st strat, and its an amazing one.

enjoy. 1st thing you should do, is take it to get set up. should set you back 30 - 40 dollars.
after that itll play like butter.

Sweet Strat! I dig the transred finsih.
You've got a Deluxe Payers model, look up the specs on the Fender Website.
The gold hardware is a nice touch

If you no it was made in 2000 then I would say it is a Deluxe Super Strat they made them before the Players Strat which was started about 3 or 4 years ago. The Deluxe Super Strat came with the gold hardware and the pickup activation switch and three Fender Fat Strat Single Coils. It is a very nice guitar. The ash body looks good through that transparent crimson.

Ceri, thanks for the info, but she can't be a Deluxe Player Strat though.

"Introduced 1/2004 "

She is a 2000.

You are correct! I forgot that the Super Strat preceded the Deluxe Players...
