It is all positive. The MIMs Standard are a huge amount of guitar for the money. The only negative for me is having 21 frets. Good quality tuners and hardware. Sustain is extremely good. The pups are ceramic, and sound quite good. Just dump the gig bag and get a real HSC for it.

Great guitars but a bit inconsistent. If you go to a store and play five, they'll all be different. Some will sound and feel amazing and some won't. Make sure you find one that speaks to you and you'll have a friend for life.

I've played for many years. My 94 mim red standard ("Lucy") was my main guitar for about 8 yrs, played a few hundred shows with her, did some music videos and recorded a few CD's with her as well. Still a great guitar and inspires me to different directions everytime I pick her up. She has a mind of her own, but then again, most hot MIM girls do - that's what makes them great :)

Welcome to the forum. Any strat will be great and will last you forever. If you're serious about music, buy the best guitar you can afford, and you'll never be disappointed.

I'll be in your neck of the woods next year. I'll be visiting Iloilo to visit some friends next summer.

One suggestion when you get it .. I exchanged my mexicans nut for a bone nut.. I ve also heard the graphtech nuts are pretty darn good and solid and slippery so you will be in tune way better than with the standard nuts that come with mexican fenders.. also you might think about changing pickups... :D

Yep, you can always do that. But keep them a while. You might be surprised how much you grow to love them and don't want to change them.
