That's a sweet Strat you have there in the pic. The early 70's guitars were among my favorites, but it's hard to find any that haven't been altered beyond the point restoration. This is one of the reasons I was looking at the Trower model Strat. I may just end up going with a Highway One Strat, and modding it to meet the criteria I'm looking for. Thanks for sharing the pic though. SWEET!

Thanks, HH. If you keep looking, you can find decent early '70s ones.

The Highway One is a good option for a new guitar with the '70s Vibe.
I used one (a HSS) at a gig and an audience member mistook it for a hot rodded '70s. So it can easily pass for one!

I completely agree with the appearance of the Higway One, it does have the 70'd look almost to a "T" but the 22nd fret is a dead giveaway that it is'nt. :D But yes, I have considered that, since I did try one at Guitar Center a few months ago, but it would need a lot of work before it would be the way I want it.
Contrary to popular opinion, I don't really care for the satin or 'superglue' finish on a maple neck. I love the clear gloss Fender used on their guitars. I keep mine polished and waxed so that when I'm playing at a gig, it just feels like a warm glass neck in my hands
Plus, I like the vintage style tremolo more than the standard type, I believe (IMHO), that the vintage can be set to stay in tune better with the kind of heavy use I put it through
One thing about the guitar I tried at GC, they only had rosewood fretboard guitars, no maple neck ones, I just hope they are the same shape and size

I'm sure the tone would have been killer. Did the neck feel comfortable to play?

Thank you in advance,
