Original 1963. It still had the original 3 position switch. Played like a dream. And sounded like a million $$$. The fellow who had it bought it back in 1982 for $250.00. I played it right after he got it. He kept it original and only played it occasionally the whole time he had it. He sold it 2 years ago for $25K.

So far it would be my own modified MIM Straight Six Strat. Plays like butter to the point of having to watch how hard I fret each note. Now that's what I expect of of an EXCEPTIONAL axe bros! I have owned and still do own axes that have cost me better than $4,000.00 and I only have about $650.00 into this one with much better results. The trem should be a FLOYD ROSE, but hopefully that'll come in time...

In answer to the question posed by this thread, in all honesty would have to say, everyone I have had in my hands. I have minor preferences, like maple fret board, and quiet pickups, and am not including copies or non Fender made versions.

BUT ...

The Stratocaster is my weapon of choice, and I like all of them, and of course "Honey" is my fave at this time.

The best strat I have played is my FIL's 1978 USA made standard. It is the reason I decided to buy a strat for my first guitar.
