Hell, I don't know, why are you asking me (lol). I'm just replying cuz that's someting I'd like to know, too. They describe them as an alnico pickup. I'm wondering if the pickups were changed and improved for 08, so I'll be checking back on your thread. And how do they sound?

They are just generic, alnicoV magnet, strat pickups. No thrills but good quality. The nearest direct replacement you will get to em i guess are the 57/62 set.

I'm pretty sure that their Tex-Mex single coil pickups. The HSS model has a Diamondback Humbucker in the bridge.

Hmmm ... I thought they were Alnico 3's. That's wrong?

Hello Ndngary,

Nikininja is right on the 57/62 are pretty close
the 57/62's are bit more on the, well for lack of a better
words vintage sounding, jangly, edgy. Best said I have
both and like 57/62 a wee bit more.

Cheers.

That all sounds about right.

The American Standard Strat does have AlNiCo V magnets.
