Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2001 - 2002

Speaking from personal experience I’d say that is a good deal. I would think especially in Europe since it had to be shipped there. Mine is a 2002 American standard black with maple fret board and it is my main guitar. I own two other electrics, gibsons, and I keep them mostly for posterity. I’m not for certain but I think it was around 2002 when Fender made a few adjustments. Such as rolled edges and the bridge saddles. They may have changed them earlier, not sure but the 2002 has them and all the other nice appointments for the guitar at that time. I don’t know if my creditials are worth 2 cents but I’ve been playing guitar for 20 years now and been through three different genres of music and the 2002 does a good job of covering them all.. My Opinion, a great guitar, if it is in good shape. Good luck

If it's $800USD then that's not bad, but I would try to haggle them down 100 or more. If that's euros or pounds then no way.

The only caviat I might add is that, if you love the way it feels and sounds, you've played a bunch of other strats, and still want it, then go for it.

Have you tried an 07 or 08 MIM strat? I honestly put them on par with alot of MIA strats from the 90's through early 00's.

My bit of Europe, the UK, an American Standard Strat can be had new for £689 or less: that works out at today's rate at US $1196. Significantly more than US prices, significantly less than some other places.

Even a few weeks ago prices were noticeably better.

Cheers - C
