Hi! ( my first topic, so be easy on me :P )

I just ordered my first American hss stratocaster, and im looking so forward to getting it! I only have two concerns... i live in Norway, and thus there are few guitar stores, and the guitar stores we've got sucks! no alternatives, and therefore i decided to order the fender i wanted.. (i know that i should try a guitar before i buy, but then i wouldn't get the guitar i wanted:S)

so i've got two questions:

Does all "fat" strats come with the s-1 pickup switch system? Im worried this system doesn't come with all guitars..

And i what can i expect from the neck? i currently have a epiphone sg g-400, and i just love the neck.. the guy at the store said that my fender would come with a standard fender neck.. Any comments?

thanks :)

Sorry for the double post..

After reading more in the fender forum, it seems like the american standard stratocaster only comes with an old type of switch... while the delux comes with the s-1.. is this true? im quite worried that i might have ordered the wrong guitar...

any answer is appreciated!

My Am Strat HSS (not a deluxe) does have the S-1 switch. The S-1 was dropped from the SSS Strat but not the HSS. You're going to love it!!

Great choice!! You should not be dissapointed! I recently purchased an Am Deluxe and it is now my favorite Strat... ( I have 4 of them) Please let us know when you get it and what your thoughts are... The S1 opens up a whole new bunch of tones never before possible...

I'm new here too, so we have something in common.

I don't have an answer for your neck question, but to address the other, not all fat strats are created equal. In other words, you can have a fat strat without having S-1 switching. You start seeing that option when you get up into the $1000 range.

I hope that helps!
