Here's a pic my brother took at the Newcastle city hall, cant remember the date, probably mid, late 70's , anyway as you can see, he's done a pretty good job on this one, crying shame if you ask me, wonder who got the entrails !! FRANK

Thanks for sharing. I actully have the brand new 70's Strat reissue (MIM) that mimicks Blackmore's. It's beautiful with an ash body and a Natural
Wood finish & a maple neck just like the one Ritchie played back in the 70's

Hello Flashriff,

Great photo, those 70's people in the
audience crack me up.

Cheers.

Nice.

That looks like Ritchie Blackmore in action ... even though you can't see him!

There's a Rainbow video (or two?) that show his destructo act in full color.

If you want to see Mr. Blackmore's Strat smashing carnage at it's best ,check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aQ9P4qi8uo

Blackmore would continue this brand of showmanship with Rainbow - I have yet to see Ritchie wildly smashing any lutes or mandolins with Blackmore's Night...

I wish Ritchie would go back with Deep Purple again.

Since we're talking about Blackmore- I recently came across EIGHT celection 12" speakers from his Marshall cabinets and grabbed them. He only used them for a single performance and then had them replaced- for every gig.
Each speaker has a date and the tech's name- a guy in a local studio had them - he was Ritchie's tech on the tour.

It's cool to have a piece of history.
