Hi,

I have a 1996 Deluxe American Strat Plus with a Fender Deluxe Locking Tremelo System. I would like to be able to adjust the height of individual strings at the Bridge rather than only being able to adjust overall Bridge height with the two Pivot/Fulcrum Screws - any ideas? Would a different Fender Bridge Fit straight in? String spacing at the Bridge is 2 and one sixteenth inches. The two Pivot/Fulcrum Screws are 56mm apart.

Thanks,
Reet

Welcome to the Forum.

Is yours like this one? (Not mine: pic from Net.)

56mm center to center of the mounting posts is a standard dimension: most after-market two-point bridges should just drop straight in, though check that measurement before purchase. Don't even think of replacing those inset bushings, and only change the pivot posts if the old ones are worn. If so, check you have the same thread before screwing new posts in.

I'm curious to know what radius that bridge is set up to? The same as the neck, or a bit bigger or smaller?

Cheers - C

Thanks Ceri

Yes, it is just like the one in the picture. I did wonder about the radius because it seems to be different to the neck. The neck appears to have more curvature (smaller radius?) resulting in the 1st and 6th strings being too high. This is the main reason why I would like to be able to adjust the string heights individually. I had thought about just changing the complete bridge for a standard one but I would need to be sure that it would fit without having to alter the body or the Fulcrum screws. I don't actually use the tremelo system. With 5 springs fitted and 8 gauge strings (Extra Slinkys), it's basically fixed and that suits me fine.
