Can everyone please start acting like adults. Highway Ones are very nice guitars. They have features that appeal to a lot of people. The great thing about Fender is the number of models they offer. They have something to appease everybody. To prefer a certain model is nothing but personal preference. I am very sick and tired of people bashing other people because they don't feel the same way about this guitar. NO ONE IS SAYING THE HIGHWAY ONE IS A HORRIBLE GUITAR. People are just stating that it's not for them.

I hope that one particular member on this forum...(you know who you are) would stop trying to shove their opinion down everyone's throat. We get it, you love Highway One's. You have like a million of 'em. Just because you love doesn't mean that everyone else has to love them too. Stop acting like some kind of high and mighty elitist and accept that some people don't like the Highway One.

Not everyone is going to like the same guitar. No one would play anything else if one guitar was the best guitar ever. You keep claiming that Highway Ones are the best production model Fender has evermade. If that's the case no one would play anything else.

Thats exactly my point. But I cant help take offense when someone blamelessly and mistakenly misquotes me and then someone else responds with a fools reply of 'he cant handle a real strat'.

Who wouldnt. Especialy when said person wont provide any evidence that he even owns a guitar let alone play it.

it's been 6 years since i played on a pro level nik.
our web site was up for the first 2 years after our
retirement. our singer removed our site and i had
no control over that because he was the man he
put the band together. now what i can do is invite you
to Pa. USA. to my home and we can sit and watch houres
and houres of concert footage of us going back to 1979.
and theres many other things i can show you like my home
studio and what ever else. so theres your invite.
i will not respond anymore to this issue nik. you got
the invite i'm shure you have a passport. good day!

I agree with you that it is very low to say that someone "can't handle a real strat". Everyone must realize that we co-exist in this virtual world of this forum. Tangible things like guitar skills and someones ability to play the guitar should not be attacked. Especially if you have never heard them play guitar. That's like someone who has never heard Yngwie Malmsteen saying "he must suck because he has a stupid name". How can you attack someone's guitar prowess if you have never heard them play.

I think that both Nikinija and Alwaysstrat should agree to disagree and stop attacking each other if you don't know a thing about the other person. This forum should be lighthearted and fun. It should be open for debate not a slew of slanderish remarks. Everyone loves a good debate about music and guitars, but lets keep it there and not make it a personal pissing match.

because he cant handle a true strat.
a basic old school strat like the highway one.
any one else complains the same thing they
cant handle the highway one its to much for them.
they wouldnt know what to do with out the s-1 switch
or the rolled fret board all things that means NOTHING! to
a real strat player.

Whoa, that's kinda harsh. I love strats whether it be "old school like the highway one" or a "true strat with rolled fretboard/s-1 switch". They're both quality pro guitars in my opinion and each offer something different when playing or creating music.

Man, if one can't handle a strat, I would hate to see that person with an ESP in their hands, it would melt their face off

what was ment that the strats and the people who
played them back in the 50's-60's-70's-80's and
the 90's did just fine with out the s-1 switch and the
rolled fret board and a few other little odds and ends.

I think you are wrong in saying that the Hwy 1's are just like the strats of the 50's-60's-70's-80's. That's why Fender makes vintage reissues. So that we can by guitars true to their time period. I think if Fender though the Hwy 1 was a throwback strat they would market it that way. Here is a quote from this very site about the Highway one:

"The Highway One series is upgraded for '06! Super-size frets, '70s styling, new alnico pickups and new colors take this amazing guitar to the next level.

The new pickups on the Highway One Stratocaster guitar produce a more round tone that can sound glassy and great with high gain. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish lets the body wood's natural tone shine through, making for one of the most exciting new instruments in the Fender family!"

No where in this quote doe it say its a throwback guitar. As a matter of fact I seem to see the word "new" a lot in that quote. The Highway One is just another great guitar in an amazing lineup that Fender has to offer. Why can't we just agree on that.

Oh I almost forget. I just want to say that I think it is great that I got the final word in the "Highway One- Final Word" thread. Do I win something for that???

60's strats i did say they are like the plain old strats of some
years ago no s-1 switch no rolled fret board just a plain $@! kicking

Imagine how bad eric clapton, EVH and ritchie blackmore must be. Non of them guys play no frills guitars. The clapton strat is mod laden, the blackmore scalloped edges must mean he can hardly play baa baa black sheep on a 'real' strat. God knows how bad EVH must be, the frankenstrat and them musicman guitars were nothing like a real strat. Eric Johnson and John Mayer must be really terrible having to have pickups specialy made for them.

Hjroot, dont worry mate. Were in good company guitar wise if improvements make you a worse player.
