Hi all, this is my first post. I'm a Gibson guy at heart, but felt I needed a Strat.
I've had one for a few weeks now and I frick'n love it! 2008 American Standard Sienna Sunburst. The first time I saw a Sienna, I just knew I had to have one.
My local music store was nice enough to order two for me to choose from. The one I picked is 7 lbs, perfectly balanced and sounds great!. I couldn't be happier with it.

Mind you this is coming from a Gibson addict...for $1,000, an American Fender Stratocaster is one h*ll of a guitar! Kudos to Fender.

Meet Buddy.

Hey there, new guy!

Whew, that Strat is just too "clean" and "shiny." You gotta get some hours under it now.

Yes, from the top, the grain is very nicely matched up.

I'm guessing from your name that you own a Gibson R9?

Welcome, and a very nice strat you got there, I'm new here too, and was a gibson nut until I bought a strat last month, can't put the thing down, yeah I say well done fender as well, I love mine to bits, the single coil sound is just awesome, as is the looks, build quality, everything, spot on. Beautiful git, R9. Welcome to the "sickness"! I had been an LP guy until I played a Strat that just called out to me one day in GC. I bought it (a MIM arctic white with maple fb) and have since sold my LP to help finance an '08 Am Std 3-tone sunburst with maple fb. I've never looked back. Fantastic git and is just so darn comfortable to play.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm sure you'll enjoy her. Oh, and welcome to the forum. You'll find that there are some very knowledgeable people on here who are always willing to lend a helping hand.

You just picked my favorite of all Fender colors. Unfortunately, the model I bought, didn't come in that color.

I'm working on it...:)

My user name elsewhere is R9 and I used it here again for consistency.
I do have a R9...and six other Gibsons.
This Strat is my only non-Gibson and I consider it the black sheep of the family...:D
...but what a black sheep it is!
