I have several and have only officially named one... My Salmon Pink 1992 Ibanez Jem is named "Lori-Ann". The rest of my guitars I just call by the model or the color etc.

Should I stop naming my guitars?

Should I maybe get a life?

Or a date?

I like pudding.

My first one was named Heather after my wife. They were both my world. I still have the same wife, but Heather the guitar is gone...(met a unforseen accident) and had to have surgery. It was never the same. I recently bought my HWY 1 and still refer to it as my HWY 1. I too have been racking my brains in trying to name her, but I cannot think of anything fitting for such a fine guitar.

I'm gonna call my Telecaster "Barkely", after my dog... He deserves a legacy... he's only two- same as the Tele, (60th anniversary collectors edition) I got the dog and the guitar the same month... so I think that makes sense some how...

No...leaning towards "It's the Highway or My way" Or Highway for short.

My old LP clone from around 1970 was named "Felix" by my at-the-time girlfriend. It was later named "That thing that keeps you from getting a REAL job and a corporate career" by my first, and very short lasting wife. I still have the guitar although it's in pretty rough shape now.

I never did have much of a corporate career though in principle I've had "real" jobs for 30 years now. But 6 years ago, The Bug hit me and with the end of corporate life not that many years off, I bought my first guitar since band days. I've since progressed and one of my more recent acquisitions, 2 years ago, is a black/maple neck AmStd Strat.

I haven't really named it (or any of my others), however I do fondly refer to it as Old Nick sometimes ... because when I'm on it, I can sure play like the devil himself.

After five months I finally felt that my strats name was simply blue. It's not blue, it's sunburst though! Blue just feels right. I'm still trying to find out my PRS's name! Mabey in another three months I'll have it.

My sunburst strat with rosewood board is called Rosie, because she's got a rosewood fretboard. Simply.
