Neck: Maple (w/ brown stripe), Modern "C"
Neck radius: 9.5"
Fretboard: Maple
Nut: Fender LSR
Binding: None
Hardware: Gold
Headstock: Regular? (not a 70's headstock), maple
Inlays: Abalone (my signature on 12th fret)
Logo: Fender Stratocaster (in abalone or gold)
Pickup Configuration: SSS
Frets: 22 Medium frets
Pickguard: 3-Ply Pearloid
Controls: Volume, Tone (Bridge), Tone (Neck), TBX circuitry, S-1 Switching, 5-position switch
Bridge: 2-Point Vintage Synchronized Tremolo with ashtray cover

I like your design with these changes:

1) Birds-eye maple for the neck
2) Ebony fingerboard with standard markers
3) For the bridge, I'd want the deluxe block saddles (and no ash tray)
4) Not sure about the finish, but I am partial to that new Sienna sunburst
5) Trem set up with four springs and no float

The customized 98 strat I have is already my dream guitar.
- 98 MIA strat
- modern c rosewood neck
- chrome sperzel locking tuners
- seymour duncan jb jr in bridge
- silver lace (more midrangey) sensor in the middle
- blue lace (vintage humbucker tone) on the neck
- bottom tone know controls all pickups
- middle tone knob is wired to be a volume fader for the inner coil of the jb jr, getting me a lot of in-between sounds of single/humbucker/p90-ish
- was black, stripped and refinished in vintage wood tint
- tons of pickguard changes, now just plain black
- knurled black metal knobs
- 80's style leather strap locks
- when i refinished it, i also sanded the "edge" of the back contour and the top arm contour. those are now a nice smooth curve instead of a hard cut into the wood
- years of gigs and traveling, lots of late nights, some cigarette burns and dings over the years, and it's perfect for me now

If I could do another? I might do another custom strat, maybe with a spalted maple top, tobacco burst or something.

Easy... I have 2:

1:
-Ash body, Candy Apple Red Nitro finish
-Vintage noiseless pickups
-Reverse Headstock Maple neck/22 fret rosewood fretboard w/ Jumbo Frets
-master volume, master tone and killswitch (my Les Paul BFG has me
hooked) with 5 way switch
-Chrome Hardware, black plastic parts w/ parchment pickguard
-Dunlop Straplocks
-Hardtail

2:
-Ash body Surf Green Nitro finish
-Hot Noiseless pickups
-Reverse Headstock Bird's Eye Maple neck/ 22 fret Bird's Eye Maple
Fretboard w/ Jumbo Frets
-master volume, master tone and killswitch
-Chrome Hardware, black plastic parts w/ white pearl pickguard
-Dunlop Straplocks
-Hardtail

OK, the second is the same color as my Highway One, but this one would be perfect.

Exactly the same as a Time Machine '69, just with a clear coated swamp ash body and pearl scratchplate/pickguard

Nice guitar, sounds really, really nice. But the neck is stained way too yellow for me...

Nice one, and not overdone. I like that a lot.

On the flip side - I saw someone bragging about their super-duper custom guitar that was a green/yellow burst, with a white pearl pickguard with a dragon airbrushed on it, red pickups, gold hardware, etc. It was so hideous I wanted to vomit! One of the most horrifying looking abominations I've ever seem, dear Lord.

now that i have reread this thread.
my combo stays the same, except the p/us would be n/m scn and jbjr in the bridge.
however, i love your whole perspective on a guitar that you made your own, is your dream guitar.
its funny that we will trade in our cars for newer ones, but most of us would not trade in our fav strats.(well there are a few who have, not me though)

Mine would be made from toffee, so if I got peckish on stage, I could lick the back.
