Found a jem at a pawn shop today a 1987 Squire I believe it is a contemporary model strat (3d version) due to info on the links below. What dose anyone know about these? SN starts with E7. Mine has 3 after market pups, one Duncan Single neck, a unknown fender custom shop mid, and a duncan vintage rails bridge mounted on a cheap 1 ply poorly fitted scratch plate and a weird switch, thought was a kill swith but havent found a function yet........ also belive the guitar was stock HSS. Body is nice and has the fender/kahler bridge possibly the model II bridge. Dident have the trem arm gonna go back and see if they have it, anyone have a pic of what it looks like? (supposed to have a hex wrench under the plastic cover) Plys great and I love it! never seen another till today. Any help would be appreciated body wood ect thanks

That switch may work the bridge pickup (or used to ) to change it from Single coil sound to Humbucker sound. Squire used to put out nice stuff in the 80's. Used to own Squire HM III HSS with Floyd Rose Tremelo. Wish I still it.

Ok after reading the manual more it is a 25-4302 model.

3 single, 5 way switch, no factory coil split, 1 vol 2 tone, system I trem, 25.5" scale, 22 fret.

So I guess cheap aftermarket guard (why I have no idea) and a coil split for the bridge single??? I dont notice any diffrence, is that pup considered a humbucker???

I'm not sure if its considered a humbucker. Seen some Dimarzio p/u's that look like that (sort of). They have them listed under their single coil section. Have you looked under the pick guard to see what that switch is attached to?
