I've had this strat now for a couple of months, it was my dad's but i traded him it for my older jackson. I've always loved the way it played, but I never got into how it sounded. I had these DiMarzio Super Distortion and Super 2 kicking around, thought about it, put 2 and 2 together, and decided to put them in it. I also for the middle tossed in an HS-2.

It was looking like a really good high-output metal monster of a guitar, but I wasnt sure I wanted to entirely give up the nice 'vintage output' kinda sound that was starting to like. Solution: Series/Parallel Switch - for each p/u. I ended up with a VERY versatile strat.

So, it'll turn the quarter-mile in how many seconds?

Congratulations, looks like you did a very nice job. Now you've got yourself a full-on custom. That was a good idea adding those series/parallel switches, now you've got a bag full of tones.

to answer questions:

it'll run about 12.3 in the 1/4

the three switches are for series/parallel switching on each pickup

and thanks alot! it's not the first custom i've ever built, but it's the first one i've ever built for me. i'm so far happy with it. i'm gonna take the capacitor off the volume pot though. i put it on to brighten up the sound, but i think it was too much. also, i put caps on the tone pots as well, to retain the clarity when i roll down the tone knobs, but they are too small. more microfarads needed, they nullified the tone pots entirely.

my only other plans are to put on some locking hardware. either gonna do tuners and saddles, or put on the 'super-vee' system. havent decided yet.

so on that note, anyone ever tried wd-music's locking saddles and locking kluson-knock off tuners? and any have any experience with the super-vee bridge and nut assembly?

Awesome! I bet that monster plays and sounds great now. The condition looks fantastic. Congrats on a job well done.
