Edit because of typo...

I get this ringing overtone when I strum open chords and it's kind of annoying. It is coming from the g b and high e strings. I am not sure if this is normal or not.
I was watching this youtube video and noticed this guy has the same ringing overtone when he is strumming so I am posting it as a example of what I mean. happens around 7:45 of the video when he starts strumming.

Does it happen on your guitar too?

At 4:45 on the video he's strumming muted strings. There are no overtones.

I tried various times on the vid and didn't find a thing that sounded like what he was talking about. Maybe he was just trying to waste someone's time. If he was, he succeded in wasting mine. Score one for him.

Sorry guys I meant where he start PLAYING at around 7:45 or shortly after that not 4:45. My typo, I appoligize. Turn up the volume and listen to the ringing overtone of the trebble strings. The same happen to my guitar. Is this normal with all Strats?

Yeah those overtones on the vid are ok, infact its sympathetic overtones like that, that you should look for in a guitar. If you dont want em lower your treble and use thicker strings.
