When measuring the bridge gap using Fenders recommended specs (1/8" gap) does that mean it should have the 1/8" gap at both sides of bridge?

Also if you want the bridge flush to the body do you screw down the pivot screws so that the entire bridge is flat against the body?

I am not sure which one I am going to use but wanted the info first.

From the back corner of the bridge down to the body of the guitar.

Definitely not. You need to either add a spring or two, or tighten the claw screws. For me, I left the claw alone and just added a spring (for a total of 4). That brought the bridge flush with the body, and leaves the trem to be very usable. When I use trem it stays in tune much better. If I do not use trem, it stays in tune seemingly forever...

So with having it flush you leave the pivot screw height alone. This makes the angle now $@!&# the opposite way because the bridge is now flush at the rear but not at the front. Is this OK?

What I meant by the 1/8 gap was on either side... meaning the high E side and the Low E side. Should they both have the 1/8 gap?

What you are describing I honestly don't follow -- but it does not sound good. I am sure some 2-point-trem experts will be chiming in here soon?

Yes.

The word $@!&# is not what I typed. It is getting scrambled by this forum. Everytime I type it in it gets scrambled.
Must be a bug in the forum software.
Anyways spell out the below bold letter to understand the word.

Mod's can you fix this?
Put together the upper case Bold letters to spell it out.
