i went to gc to give a payment towards les paul.
played the deluxe for almost an hour.
didnt want to put it down. totally sick guitar.

they have a used one. i dont know if the neck had some damage prior, and a luthier fixed it.
they have it for 500 bones.

i started getting those dennis the menace hands. but i left.

I have a 1991 Strat Deluxe that my wife bought for my birthday. She said lets go to the local shop and pick out whatever guitar I want. My mind screamed "I'm finally getting a Les Paul Custom". Got there and I started playing one and loved it. The salesman talked me into playing some others guitars. I picked up the Strat Deluxe, and I was like "WOW!, Who needs a Les Paul?"

I never looked back.

Its a great guitar.

First, I'm not fond of the silver. But thats just me.

Second, you need to define the abuse and neck issues. If repairs are needed, you need to consider the additional cost. Paint chips come with usage, no big deal there.

Third, I already have 2 beautiful Fenders.

$780 for a new LP Standard is a steal as far as I can tell. I looked through GC's website, are you sure its a standard and not a studio, or some other low end LP? Be sure its a Standard.

But it comes down to what YOU want or need. You said you played the Strat Dlx and didn't want to put it down. Did you feel the same way about the LP?

If not, there is your answer.

yeah its a std les paul double cutaway, it was on labor day sale.
thats why i jumped at it.
the strat has minor, actually blemishes on neck where the rw meets the maple, minor. integrity intact. its a BAD git.
however i dont want to give up the chance for the lp.
i played the lp.

From what I am reading, the LP DC you are referring to is suppose to sound like a Strat.

My question is... What's the point when you already have 2 Strats?

it has a great sound to it. alnico V burstbuckers.
they dont necesarily sound like a strat. the distortion sounds great on it.
im not too much into heavy, some metallica, but not more than that.
it does give some great pink floyd, castellorizon (something like that)
comfortably numb solo sound. to gnr. to bb king.

i was just having 1 of those moments, obsessive over that git, im kind of over it.

not really.lol
