Welcome to the Forum.

Both my strats have bridges that are flush with the body. I like them that way.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I just arrived here a few weeks ago myself after the purchase of a '78 U.S.A. Strat from a friend of mine. I will like it even more when I learn to play.

it means that the underside of the trem or bridge is fully resting on the face of your strat,it cant move

Welcome,
I own 2 Strats and one I have set up with the trem. against the body, and the other is floating. The only reason I left the trem. floating on the 2nd is because I never had any tuning issues. The other has always went out of tune easier when I had the trem floating.

The tremolo on my strats are "flush" with the body, however I can still move them. I can push down on the bar and make the pitch go lower, but I'm unable to pull up on the bar to make the pitch go up. They not "blocked", just set up so that the tail of the tremelo is flush with the body, and only moved to make the pitch lower.

Hi EVH, welcome to the Forum.

I was just trying out a Lite Ash Tele in Chris Bryant's earlier today. I really like the completely matt neck, front and back. I don't remember, is the Lite Ash Strat like that too? Excellent guitars at the price.

Whereabouts in Northumberland are you? Within reach of SoundsLive in Newcastle? I've dealt with them a bit online and had good service, but never been to their shop: I wonder what it's like.

Cheers - C

I've had that problem in some shops, but thankfully most shops dont mind you playing the stuff. whenever i get a unsetup guitar i usually tell the ASSistant that i'd prefer a playable one and that the one they've given me is a bad advert.

Some guitar shops here in the states can be a little snooty and won't let you play very long. Others are great and let you take your time. When I was stationed in Washington State, I walked into a shop (I think it was a GC) they barely let me in, wouldn't let me play on anything, and eventually kicked me out. Have to admit I was slummin a bit on my choice of clothing that day. They must have thought I wasn't in the market for a new guitar. But as my mama used to say, "never judge a book by it's cover!" Flashed them two $500 dollar bills and told them to go to Hell. :D

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of those type of guitars. But hey, it's what you like, right?
