Hi!

Somebody is trying to sell me a loaded Stratocaster pickguard (obviously from Allparts) and claims the pick-ups and electronics are genuine Fender.
The bottom plate of the pups is cardboard and stamped "VII" or "VI". The quality of the fabric-covered wires and the quality of the solderings makes me prone to believe this is true.
But I know we have experts here.
Do you know what this is?

Note: the pick-ups have staggered pole pieces. A reissue model?

Thanks

The potentiometers, you say... well that's a promising start. Actually I've bought this now, paid 510 skr, like 90 USD. I trusted the look of the wiring.

Those pickups are from a Tokai Goldstar (strat copy).

There are Goldstar pickups stamped E, U, VI and VII.

Check out (many various) posts at the Tokai Forum:

Thank you. You're the best.
I know Tokai Goldstar is widely recognized as really good guitars, even preferred before Fender by some...

... but I really wanted them pick-ups to be Fender... :(

Well, a lesson learned.

Thanks again

Erik
