What do you guys think of this? Picked it up yesterday. I am pysched at the color.

A couple of questions, how does the bridge pickups sound in the HSS. I was a bit hesitate about going with an HSS since the purchase was through ebay and I have only played regular and hot rod strats. Was this a custom ordered color or a color offered back then. I have not seen this color on any stratocasters before.

Er - I can't see it. Where is it?

If it is a mid-80s Strat with white pickguard and black pups and knobs, then it is easily identified. But can't tell without looking...

Ah. Not the 80s Strat I was thinking of, then. It's a Deluxe from around 2005, give or take a year. The combination of S1 switch on the volume knob and LSR roller nut tell you that.

I have an Am Series from the same year with the same HSS and S1 arrangement. I like the third position sound with the S1 switch down - all pickups full on. Something different for a solo. Apart from that I only use it with the switch up.

Though the same arrangement as mine I think you have a different model of pickups: how do you think they sound?

Can't help on the color, I'm afraid. Though I'm guessing it is either "Orange" or "Bright Amber Metallic"...?

Cheers - C

Thank you.

I linked to the ebay ad in the first post. It is a 2005. I have not played it yet and bought it mainly for the color.

Was tangerine available in 2005? Does anyone know color code for tangerine in 2005?

You are most welcome.

For colors, check this page:

As to the rest, I think you answered your own question?

Also. How rude of me: welcome to the Forum!

I like the color.

And I had that same configuration at one point. Mine was the SCN's in the neck, and a fender humbucker in the bridge (forget the name). Also love the LSR and the look of the headstock without the tree.

I think you'll have fun, especially with those DLX necks.

Let us know how she sounds.

Its one of my favorite colors. They also used it on the American Deluxe Tele a couple of years ago.

Can't tell you about the pick-ups, but I'm pretty sure the color is "Candy Tangerine." It is on the color chart, but it's on a Telecaster, and the metallic aspect of the paint is not reflected there. It was a color offered with American Deluxe models at the time. I had never seen one either, until a few years back when I happened upon one in a small music store. It's a 2003, has three vintage-noiseless single coils and a brown tortise shell pick-guard. It was the most beautiful guitar I'd ever seen, and it made the trip home with me. The color is rare, it seems. I've not seen another one before, or since. Think you got a good one there - congrats!

Love that color, but I'm a sucker for orange in general. Very cool...
