I played one at the guitar store near me, and I really really like them.

I'm thinking about buying one soon...anyone have any opinions about them?

oh yes i seen one at my local musc store too. It has texas special pickups which are really nice, and it's got a vintage vibe about it. I would go for it, especially if you like texas blues :)

Yes get a roadhouse if u like it.
Also try a Lone Star strat...
It has the same Pickups as a Roadhouse except
It has a Pearly Gates+ plus humbucker in the bridge.

Both are very good strats for the money in my opinion.

I really like the MIM Deluxe series of guitars. I have a Deluxe Powerhouse that I absolutely love. Haven't had a chance to play the new version Roadhouse yet, but I really liked the original and hunted for one unsuccessfully after they were discontinued. Love the Texas Special p/u's. Looks like a good value.

hmmm...I really like the feel of this strat, and the way it feels, only problem is I don't play blues really... Would this guitar work in punk?

This is definately a sizzling blues guitar, but could be used for just about
any music I guess... but that doesn't mean it would be best for punk though.
Punk is a very "noisy" style music...
A more modern style music that is very similar is called "Noise Rock".
The main difference being that noise rock is atonal (lacking tonal center)
& discordant (lacking in harmony).
So for that style of music there really is no skeleton of sound to be achieved.
Any instrument can make utterly dissonant sounds, although YOU may
prefer a guitar with humbuckers & a locking tremolo (floyd rose).
With a wammy bar u can get some very strange sounds; and if you use it
heavily, a floyd rose can take the abuse & remain in tune.
Its not the simplest to set up or get in tune, but once it is u can bonkers on
it and still remain in tune.
Have you seen this guitar?

I have a Roadhouse I bought new in the 90's its awesome, obviously great for blues but I use t in a Who tribute... real snarly aggressive mids to the pick ups... Its ace.
