Even though I love all the usual suspects, I must admit that I still have a huge preference for SRV. It is a shame I have to confess that yesterday, while browsing through Albert Collin's work, I came across Duke Robillard. What an amazing guitarist. How many of them do I don't know about? Anyway, I discovered most of them because I joined this forum and so I am gratefull for that. Thank you Fender for this forum.

Cheers.

It´s hard for me to just pick one favorite but I would say
Jimi Hendrix and John frusciante on a second

Top 5, David, Jimi, Eric, Stevie and Mark.
But I have to give a nod to Buddy Holly, simply becuase he was the first, and one of the first guitarists that I was introduced to by my father.
It's hard to to look at a Sunburst Strat and not see Buddy looking back at you.

How could I add another name to this list...
It shows clearly just how much influence the Strat has on Rock, Blues and more. Yes, the usual suspects are there, like: SRV, Hendrix, Gilmour, Shepherd, and "Edge" from U2.
What we shouldn't forget is the next generation of Stratocaster players. The topic of favorite Fender players is a LIVING, growing thing... And, even alot of players who have a lucrative deal with some other manufacturers now learned everything they know on a Stratocaster- $0.02 8)

The player who most inspired me to pick up a Strat is Ritchie Blackmore. Hearing him play classically influenced heavy rock was awesome.

Not to say he was one of my favorites - but who remembers Terry Kath of Chicago?
I was in an oldies mood this morning, playing some Captain Beyond, Deep Purple's Book of Taliesyn - when I threw on Chicago Transit Authority.

Terry, I think, never got credit for being as good a guitar player as he was. And he played both a Stratocaster and a Tele...."Introduction" and "Free Form Guitar" both rock....
