Yep. Hendrix and Clapton, obviously. But Knopfler was the one that made me think maybe my fingers could do something with a guitar too. Before that I was just the drummer :roll:

That Trower could sure make magic with a Strat and a wah-wah pedal.

I am ashamed that I forgot Jeff Beck & Gilmore, but, they would be #'s 11 & 12 on my list of favorite strat players... I still like how variable the strat sound can be, from heavy and distorted (Hendrix), to crystal clear and jangly (Buddy Holly), and all reverbery(Surf music)... It will always be my go to guitar...

Knopfler was the first guitarist to astound me. His note and melody selection is jaw dropping without being flash. My tastes have always run that way Marvin/Green/Knopfler. Fella's who are just part of a band rather than a stand alone superstar with some other muso's onstage with em.
