Doc, mine was white and natural headstock. I bought it in 81 but don't know what year the guitar was made. It was sold as brand new and came with a tweed case with red plush interior. I got it because it looked like Jimi's guit. It's the only one I've ever seen with the word "Strat" in gold leaf. No telling what it was. :?

Turns out it is a 1983 Stratocaster Standard, second version
