Does anyone know the pickup specifications for an 05 Standard Strat. Are these ceramic mags? Output? Resistance? Thanks

I don't know about that particular year but I do know that today's (MIM) Strats have the ceramic pickups, but in the special case of my (MIM) 70's Strat reissue they use the Alnico pickups because it's a reissue and even though it's a (MIM) they would have to stick to the original 70's specs.

I measured 5 single coil (2006) Mexican Standard Strat pickups out of the circuit. They ranged from 6.7K to 6.9K ohms.

They are fairly hot.

Thanks for the info. I really didn't think they'd be that high. I'm thinking about replacing them and wondered what the stock ones were.

They seem a bit thin sounding to me compared to other strats. Could that be because they are ceramic? Would Alnico be a bit warmer and less muddy in the lows?

I went from the MIM ceramics to Alnico-Vs (Fender Tex Mex). I thought the ceramics were actually quite good. To me, they provided a very Strat-sounding warm tone. The Alnicos, for me, provide more bite, with the whole tonal array becoming more vibrant especially in the higher registers. The harmonics, especially, really came to life with the Alnicos.
