Can anyone tell me what the string gauge is on new Fender Strats, basically the strings used to string the guitar at the factory? I have a 2007-2008 Mexican Strat.

9-42 gauge. And...if you look up your specific guitar on this site.....the specs should also tell you.

i think they're too small, i replaced mine with d'addario XL exl110's, they're perfect for my fingers. i think they're 10-46's.

good luck bro.

I changed my '72 Thinline Tele with 10's too.

First thing I did was swap my dlx over to 10's.
9's may be easy to bend but they sound too thin.

All the Strat whether American or Mexican ship with the 9-42s. The Jaguar and Jazzmasters I believe ship with 010s because back in those days these models were not meant to be used with anything lighter than those gauges. But when I got my Strat I switched the strings to .008s because I was used to playing Gibsons which were easier to bend strings. I still find a Strat's strings harder to bend and the action still stiffer than on a Gibson with the same .008 gauge.
