Hey Zorba,

Greetings from the Charlotte area and congrats on the new Fender. I just picked up my first left hand 1978 Strat (there is a thread on here about it with a couple of pics) and I am learning to play and enjoying it so far. I had the retune and setup done at Sam Ash in Charlotte last Thursday. Pretty cool place and I can't wait to take my girlfriends son over there to look around. He plays a little also. I am sure playing will be alot more enjoyable and alot of fun when I can hit the strings really well. BTW cute pup in the pic.

Cya,

Alright then GVette... Do you have GAS? Not (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) but fuel? I have never seen this kind of crisis before in Charlotte and I have lived here since 1981. Wow!!! I keep hearing that the last time fuel was this short was back in 1974.
OMG, I am glad I ordered my guitar when I did because it locked me in at a certain rate... It is not unprescedented for the guitars we love to go up too. I would expect a price hike on American Standards, PRS, LP's or you name it. In days or weeks the price can literally shoot up by $100. I got to play my own sienna sunburst/maple today for the first time. I am a VERY lucky guy to get this piece. It's finish is just spectacular and 4.0 in every way. I'll never second guess this choice, even if I got to wait a bit longer to take it home. :D I have dealt with Sambos in the past and they were good... this time I worked the deal with Guitar Center on the other side of town... killa selection.

Z, you are joking right!!!!!

Not hardly. Very hard to find in Gaston County. We have not had any deliveries here in my town which has 3 stations since Sat. They say the tankers are lined up in Paw Creek for filling but damn if I know where they are going  too. It is unreal around here. Fortunantly I do not have to drive to work and have a half tank in the Vette and a quarter tank in the truck if I need it.

Gas was plentiful down at the beach last week and you could just drive in a fill up anywhere. My girlfriend and I could not believe what was going on when we arrived back home. I heard the other day that stations were out from Mt. Holly/Hunterville road at I-485 all the way to the west side of Lincolnton. Hopefully this will all get better by the weekend.

Honestly I think the dealers are ticked because so many people called them out and reported it to the Attorney General about the gouging that went on with Ike. Heard BP got fined 100 grand the other day. Maybe this is their way of getting back at us. I talked to a guy that works for the companies and the tanks in Paw Creek have plenty of gas. Go figure.

Welcome to the Forum!

I am a new player too, I started lessons a few months ago and bought my first electric.
I was set on a Les Paul, but my guitar instructor has a Jeff Beck model Strat and I loved the sound so I bought a Custom shop Strat Pro CC and I love it :D I am so glad I went with a Strat!!! I am 46 years old, I am starting late but better late than never, as long as I can finally play before I die of old age.

This forum has a great bunch of people on it, they are very helpful with a bunch of knowledge.

Enjoy!

Regards,
