Hello to all Fenderphiles... I am new to the forum... and I feel honored just to be part of such a Legend. I have been a Fan of Fender for my whole life. It's been in the music I listened to and played... but I never owned an electric guitar. I looked at many different guitars but when I played the American Standard Strat with the Sienna Sunburst and Maple, it was all over.
I took up the acoustic guitar about a year ago when my mother passed away. I have been studying on a Takamine for this time because I have always been told that acoustic is the best way to learn... and once you learn the chords and basics that way- you can become much better on electric guitar.
Let me say this: My Choice had absolutely nothing to do with all the famous players who play Fenders. I respect them very much, but it came down to playability, Fretboard feel and Tone. To me, Stratocaster is really unequaled... You can make a guitar that has clean tones sound distorted, but you can't really make a distorted guitar sound clean.
When I turn 40 in february 09, there's I know where I'll find myself-

Uh yeah, I think we all say that. :D I just can't find anything non-fender that suits me. Congrats on falling in love (or whatever you wanna call it).

I'm just up the road from ya on I 77 at the VA line.

Could everyone stop buying Sienna Sunbursts and Cherry Bursts, please? I had intended to keep that look for myself!

But I know what you mean: nice choice. Welcome to the Forum.

Cheers - C

Although, I have become uncertain- style wise. I have noticed that the Sienna Sunburst is SO popular a choice, that I might just need to pick another color. As a player, you naturally sort of want to create your own unique style, do you know what I mean?

Has anyone got a photo of an American Standard with Blizzard Pearl finish, a Rosewood Fretboard and a Pearl White Pickguard? That would stand out... (as he scratches his head).

Buy what you like and don't care how many of us has your guitar. It's not the same. It's gonna be YOUR GUITAR ! You'll find 1,000,000 other reasons to love your fender. What about your nickname ? Sth to do with Greece ?
Greetings from Greece...

The Nickname Zorba goes way back to a movie called "Zorba The Greek"... It was a nickname my family used for my Grandfather, who passed away in 82'. Now, I have a four year old Yellow Lab who I've named Zorba, just to keep that name in the family...so to speak.

I don't think Fender will run out of them ...

but I understand your desire for some uniqueness. How about a doubleneck? No, already done too. Hmmm, keep thinking.

The biggest reason all my electrics are Fenders, is because of the playability. I love the feel of the Fender neck over all others. I choose Fender for mostly that reason.

Welcome to the Fender Forums. I was playing my LP last night for the first time in quite a while. My Strats definitely beat it as far as playability is concerned. Enjoy your new Strat!

Congrats on finding THE ONE for you. I'm 42 and just purchased my first Strat (a MIM) 4 months ago. I now have an '08 MIA Strat (3-tone sunburst with maple fb) that I bought a couple weeks ago. I was an LP guy before that but not anymore. You'll enjoy the Strat. I know I do!
