Hey guys, could you guys do me a favor and check out my video on the link below? It's entered in a guitar contest. It's an SRV cover. Could you just comment on the tone, and how you like it. Also it would be much appreciated if you could just click vote for it in the contest. Thanks guys!

Tone? If you do some research into SRV's quest for tone you'll understand the difficulty attaining that through your Marshall. The vibe is there though, and you apparently have the 'chop's. You need to pay attention to timing. I sense some uneveness as you progress through the piece. It certainly wouldn't hurt to spending some more time playing through over the recording, playing over a drum machine, recording yourself and listening critically to your playing compared to the original. The more disciplined you be come to achieving as close a cover to the artist, the greater your control will become and the better a player.

Good luck

A common misconception in SRV's tone is that it is quite clean with little distortion. Clean the marshall up as best you can, add some reverb to Fender it up a bit, and let your fingers do the rest.
