hey everyone, yesterday i bought myself an american stratocaster in 3 color sunburst. the finish on it is perfect and it has a maple neck with a maple fretboad that i just love. when i bought it i got a deal on it because my dad bought a MIM Tele at the same time i bought mine. i really like this guitar. before i found this guitar i swore by me Epiphone SG with EMG select pickups. but now that ive played this i dont know if ill ever pick the SG up again :P this guitar is just amazing for clean warm sounds. and when i throw a little bit of distrtion on the bridge it is amazing. im just curious about one thing. on the back of the head stock there is the serial number and it starts with Z6 and i cant find any serial numbers on the fender website that start with tha they all end at Z3 or 4 i believe. and on the back there is a little metal circle that says Fender in it and then below the word fender in the circle it says 60? dose anyone know what this is and could somebody tell me why i cant find my serial number

A serial number that begins with Z6 indicates your guitar was made in 2006, and the circle with 60 in it also indicates that your guitar was made in 2006, Fender's 60th anniversary.

Congrats on the Strat. May you never put it down, take it everywhere you go, and tuck it in bed at night as you play "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

Very cool! I just picked up my first strat a little over a month ago. It's my main guitar now. I have an Ibanez Artist that I've played for 25 years...I hardly touch that one now.

Rock On!

I bought a mexican stratocaster at a pawn shop and the serial number begins with mz3. Does that mean that it was made in 2003?
