Any of these would look good:

Candy apple red strat with white pearl pickguard.
Olympic white strat with white pickguard.
Black strat with white pickguard.

+ another 1

My strat is midnight wine and switching to a pearl pickguard is one of the things I would like to do.

I DEFINITELY agree with these choices.

my opinion is, you cant tell till its on. Ive always been a fan of single ply white on strats but i put a 3ply black with white pickup covers and knobs on my mahogany strat. It looks realy nice, adds a lot of character.

There should be a fender page on the web sight where you can select a color strat you want and change pickguards, pups, knobs etc. to see which look you like best.

I dont understand why so many people like tortise pickguards.. i find them horribly unattractive on any finish.

White 3-ply on a white finish is proboably the nicest looking classic strat combo but kinda cliché.. So the abalone gets my vote
