I've been noticing that my E1 and B2 string have been sounding horrible beyong the 11th or 12th fret. They sound out of tune while the rest of the neck and strings are fine.

All other strings in that area are fine, but these two just can't seem to hold the note or sound right.

Maybe it's my PUPs?

It's a 2006 MIM Strat with GHS Boomers .10-.48 strings on it.

sounds like your intonation is off, if you dont know how to fix it yourself take the guitar to a tech....

Maybe your saddles on those 2 strings need adjustment, take it to a tech as the above poster suggested. Should not be a big deal. Good luck!

I know that is a standard answer. I need to learn to do all these things myself. I did buy a book that is highly recommended by Dan Erlewine. His book should be one on all guitarist list of reading. I'm just to lazy to do it!

On this site there setup instructions . Click support tab at top of page, then setup guide. Setting your intonation is really very simple.
