If your amp is like mine and has an effects loop that is not being used, here's a cool way to use it. This may have been mentioned in a previous post but I decided to post my cool discoveries anyways. If you are cheap(like me) then you probably don't wanna spend more money on a pedal tuner, because you already have a portable tuner that you are satisfied with.

Ok so here it is, my crazy discovery. If you tuner has an input jack,(like most portable guitar tuners do) you can use the "send" jack from the fx loop and plug it into the tuner. This is great for tuning without having to unplug the instrument. Best of all it doesn't affect your tone!

P.S. if you want to keep the tuner plugged in at all times, even when transporting the amp, just use some velcro to attach it to a desired place on the amp(I put it on top and used a patch cable to hook it up).

Enjoy!

I have used that technique myself & it works pretty good.
It is definately a good idea to get your tuner out of the signal chain.
Lately I have been using a rack mount multi-effects processor (tc electronics Gforce) on the effects loop of my mesa boogie.
I use it for mostly delay (& other clean effects) & it also has a tuner built into it.
Works good for me also.

There was another post about a tuner built into your guitar.

Good idea. I'm used to using my boss pedal tuner, which powers my other pedals as well. I step on it, it cuts the signal so nobody hears me tune, I tap it again and I'm ready to go. Great for keeping in tune for long live shows, and worth the few extra bucks to me.
