I love the whole guitar. You will have to play around with the SCNs and the S-1 switching but you will find after time you can get any type of sound you want. Of course this is all in concert with your amp and or effects. I have a 2007 MIA Ash Deluxe SSS that I love ,the neck is really great, I don't know what particular model you got,SSS ,HSS or other, but it's a fine axe!! 8)
I forgot my manners, Welcome to the Forum!! :)

One little piece of advise (which you probably don't need) put back $35-$100 for a pro tech to set it up for your hands, style of play, and trem usage. I have picked up expensive guitars that played like an el-cheapo straight from the factory, so have that done first thing before evaluating it!

Cheers! And welcome!

I recently bought an Am Dlx in Montego - had it about 3 weeks now. I haven't played it all that much as I am keeping it at a low profile for now - (playing a new LP alot instead), but it sounds really nice, and plays well too.

You should love yours! Enjoy!

And when you get it - we need pics!!

Questions for those that have recently bought the American Deluxe Strat;

What case came with your guitar?
Was it the small molded plastic case that is shaped like a guitar on the side where the latches are?
Or was it some other molded plastic case? If so what's it like?
Or something else entirely?

I'm curious because I read one new review on this guitar that indicated he got some kind of nice rectangular case with his. And not as a separate purchase, but included in the same box.

If Fender is finally shipping this guitar with a good case, I'm thinking seriously of buying one. I hate to return things, but I would if it came in that little case I described above.

Oh .... and please excuse my manners!
A big congratulations on those that have the Fender American Deluxe Strat!

I have one of the Strat Plus Deluxe guitars from years ago. I also had a Tele Deluxe from the year they put three vintage noiseless pickups in them. (wish I still had that guitar) And I know from those, that the Deluxe series from Fender is a great playing guitar. You'll love the guitar.

And those I bought came with a nice tolex covered rectangular case, as a DELUXE guitar should come with.

(cut due to post below)

Yep, there's a new upgraded rectangular hardcase that comes as standard with Deluxes, and if I understood rightly with American Standards too (not certain if that last is correct). Looked pretty nice.

Though we did get one member posting a complaint about it, in the belief that he'd been palmed off with the wrong thing, as the half guitar shaped case you describe was not available. He was much happier when he realised he had the soupy new case...

Cheers - C

The case that came with my new Am Standard Tele is sweat to say the least. It's the same one that will come your new Deluxe. I wouldn't want to fly(as in giving my guitar to the baggage maulers) the old Standard case. I'm using my new case to haul around a Hwy 1 from job to job. The case has been great but if the TSA folks would quit dinging my git that would be great. Peace. J.J.B.
