Yeah, the only mod now I'm thinking of doing is doing some artwork to my Strat's pickguard. What do you guys think, out of the options in this poll, would look best on a MiM Brown-sunburst? (S/S/S)

And believe me- I'm open for suggestions too. 8)

i'm a big fan of the mint green on the sunburst. black is to harsh, tortoise is too brown and i don't think anything else would look good....but that's just me.

I have 3 Strat body guitars.

Fender VGStrat - I left the American Flag Decal on the pickguard.

Squier Standard Strat - the Mint Green pickguard looks great - it came on the Special Edition Cherryburst.

Squier '51 - it has a plain White pickguard - looks nice against the Black body.

I voted for the American Flag, but only if it's a MIA Strat.

Metal horn sounds different. When you customize, a guitar it's nice to make something noone else has.

I always get confused on this subject...
What the possible materials that can be used for painting, molding, or printing reg plastic PG's.
This is what I found they use on the warmoth site...

Celluloid Made in Italy, this is the GENUINE stuff. NOTE: Very flammable.
Celluloid is a solvent based plastic and it tends to shrink over the years.
Many vintage guitars are plagued with this phenomenon.

Vinyl This is a more modern plastic and does not shrink. It is not particularly "flammable".

PVC Only our Mint color is made from PVC. This is also a vinyl.

Just me but I dont thing the flag matches the Brownie. The colors seem to clash instead of enhance. The flag would look nice on a white guitar. Just my 2 cents.

Those leather pickguards look good to me, but I wonder what else could be done to give a Strat even more of a Cowboy/Western motif?

Maybe attach some conchos on the body and headstock. yeah, that's it.

A bunch of 'em here: http://eleathersupply.com/conchos.shtml
