Hi everyone. I just sold my MIM Strat locally to a great guy and a very experienced player. I'll truly miss her but I explained to her that her sale goes a long way towards picking up my new '08 MIA Standard Strat (3-tone sunburst, maple neck) that I have on layaway at GC. I think she understood and she really seemed to approve of the new owner. I pick the new one up on 9/26. I can't wait!

Sorry to bore you guys. I'm just so excited about the soon-to-be new member of the family.

Now this is a guitar forum, we're all interested in one common interest. Guitars. Its hard to bore us when you talk about guitars.

I once sold my MiM for a Jackson DKMG. What a mistake. At least I got the Strat back in an even trade though. (whew).

I traded away my first guitar, a piece of junk Strat imitation Korean made Epiphone for a lawn mower. After about a year and a half, I started wondering how it was, and actually missed it. I found out later it was handled pretty roughly and the neck was broken on it. It actually kills me I traded it away, even if it was only a $75.00 guitar.

Thanks for the replies, guys. About 30 minutes ago I sold my other electric, an Epi LP. Now I'm without an electric until I pick up my '08 Am Std Strat.

I will miss both of the guitars but frankly since I'm not a professional musician (I don't think I even qualify as an amateur musician), I see no real reason to have more than the new Strat. I really hadn't been playing my LP since I got my MIM Strat a few months ago. IMHO, Strats are just so much more enjoyable to play, even though I loved the look and sound of my LP too.

Anyway, I've now gotta wait to Friday, 9/26 to pick up my new git. The waiting's going to kill me. I'll post pics when I get her.

I recently sold my MIM strat as well..needed money after a move across country. I do miss her. It didn't sound quite as nice as a MIA but the action was to die for.

Anyhow saving up for my dream ax..early 70's hardtail strat..I will be saving for a long time.lol.

Know the feeling. Sold my Squire HM III for $100 and traded my BC Rich Warlock for my Fender HW1. Miss the Squire (a lot of modifications over the years), scew the BC Rich. Have fun with your new guitar when you get it. :P

OK, so I couldn't wait until 9/26. I went ahead and picked her up yesterday afternoon.

Man, what a great guitar and she's real purty. I loved my MIM Strat but I notice a real difference in tone of the pickups and heft of the guitar. The biggest difference I've found so far is the neck. Wow, the necks on the new MIAs are fantastic. They're smooth and they play great.

Anyway, while I have many years to go before I'm considered a passable amateur guitarist, I now have a git that will be with me the entire journey.

Here are some pics.

there's no feeling better than picking up a brand new strat, and calling it your own.
