do you think fender should re release the jimi hendrix strat and make it part of the signature strat line?

i think they should have many different models of the strats he used throughout his colorful career.

they should also release a left handed model.

Has any one human being in history done more to advance the fortunes of the Stratocaster than Jimi Hendrix? Does anyone deserve a Signature guitar more than he?

Unfortunately, I fear you will find that it is the Hendrix Estate that has blocked further issues of Jimi Sigs - no doubt due to financial disagreement.

How perplexing, considering some of the other things they license. Still, given that Jimi's Strats were basically stock, he is one of the easier players to emulate with readily available gear. Over to you!

Cheers - C

I remember the one you mean. Can't find it on the site at the moment; wasn't it discontinued?

Anyway. We all knew what the Company was getting at, but there was no sign of a Hendrix signature on that one, was there?

Exactly. Isn't it silly that the name of the most influential ever electric guitar player and the maker of his architypal instrument can't get back together?

Oh, well...

I don't know how Fender Japan gets away with the ST68JH model
http://www.rakuten.co.jp/ikebe/443985/651192/580530/
but it's as close as it comes to an official Hendrix model. It is strung righty, just waiting for the Hendrix-wannabe!

The Fender Japan ST68RH model has the righthanded body and reverse headstock if you don't want to fight having the knobs up on top, but still want that "vibe."

As far as the history of Fender Jimi Hendrix guitars goes, check out this very informative link:

What's good about this Forum is there's constantly a new generation of members waiting to discover Alain's guitar collection. Fasten your seatbelts, fellas...

There have been many Hendrix sigs in the past, but as mentioned, no more will be possible, at least not with any direct mention of Hendrix.
