Just got a light-weight (7lb), solid color strat. The serial number is MZ0######.

According to this website, it said that 2000 strats have MZ0 + 5 digits. Mine has MZ0 + 6 digits.

1) Is it a legit 2000 Fender Strat?
2) Because of its light weight, does 2000 MIM Strat have alder or basswood or poplar body?

What a great company with great record keeping!

I called their number 480.596.9690 and found out that my strat (MZ0+6 digits) was made in January of 2001 and the body is alder.
