Today i returned one of my jcm800s to the guitar shop i bought it from so they could send it away to marshall, the warranty is still valid. Handed the bloke the marshall turned to walk out and spotted a vibro-champ for £200. Its sitting in my lounge now, its a great home amp.

I need some kind of therapy or something  .

Hey brother it's been a bit! Ah, that happens to all of us CRAZED musicians every time we walk into a music store so don't feel bad  . I'm about ready to send my new Marshall JVM410H head back to Marshall as well because it produces so much noise even when there is nothing plugged into it. I tried different speaker cables with no luck so it's off to the heap I guess. I went back to the store and they had another new one there that did the same thing and the salesman told me that they all do that. That's total crap if that's the case man. BTW my MIM Straight Six is about junk now too. It just couldn't handle the style I guess as it's kind of self-destructing on it's own. Fret-buzz everywhere! Even after several adjustments it looks like the strings are cutting through the nut and the high "E" string almost sits off the fretboard entirely. When I was younger I always said that "I'd NEVER own or play a Marshall or a Fender." Looks like I should have listened to myself for a change... Keep rockin' it bro!!!!!!!!!

how long you had that FSR. 6months. it should last longer than that. Have you considered titanium fretwire. Expensive but it outlasts anything else. The old charvel jackson guitars had incredibly hard wire too, ive a 88 charvel with no visible marks on the wire. I just bought the guitar off a friend i sold it to years ago, i know he hasn't re-fretted or dressed it and i know i havent. Now i dont play at anywhere near your speed with lead stuff but im a regular chuck schulinder for rhythm and very heavy handed with lead stuff.
It could be worth investigating what wire Grover used on them guitars. 20 years of abuse and no visible wear on the frets.

About that marshall, i think its a problem with their current chinese manufacturer. Mines gone back through noise, i tried a jvm too today, yep noisey as a bar with free beer. I tried a vintage modern too, that was very quiet. I think its a issue with the pre-amp controls. more knobs more noise.
The tone of their current amps is great, QC however is sadly lacking. :(

BETTER OUT THAN IN,
I ALWAYS SAY....

sorry, popped in my head.
speak of Gas, i got it bad this monday.
i have 2 strats am. one hwy 1 and the other am std.
i kept looking for another strat that would just jump out at me.
(i was at gc) several days back, i was mentioning on how i would like a gibson lp studio, or epiphone lp. except i could not find the guitar that called out to me.
until i looked up at the the gibsons, many high priced les pauls had huge discounts.

i ended placing a les paul dbl cutaway on layaway.
it was at an amazing price, i could not pass it up.
i did tested and loved it.

I didn't even go to return a product. I just went to window shop (because I was in the area), and I ended up buying a Thinline Telecaster (try explaining something like that to a wife-notice......that I'm still among the living).

I should get away with just a set of strings. The whole walking out of a guitar shop empty handed is alien to me. I should be safe carrying a 100watt head out though.

Good point. That head is a full load --- less temptation to fill your arms with more gear.
