Just curious.

Focusing on common Fender fretboards here mainly because I'm curious if players prefer the "vintage" fretboards and frets over the more modern fretboard specs found on other models.

To avoid a mess I'm neglecting metal guitar specs (jumbo-jumbo frets, very flat fretboards - we're talking Fender here) and model specific fretboards - scalloping, vintage radius with wide frets like on the Aerodynes, etc.

Please just vote on what is closer to your preference.

As I indicated on your other thread, I can't vote unless you include a "both" button. Like I can't choose between ice cream and steak. I need both - and more.

But, if we could find steak flavored ice cream, the the heavens would open!

Plus, you could wash it down with this refreshing beverage...

I wish there was a "both" button for women.

See now, with those two posts this thread has already moved onto more interesting territory...

I can choose -- I prefer medium jumbo frets and a flatter fretboard. My Gibson LP has a 12" radius which might be a bit too flat. The 9.5" radius on my Fenders good for me.

7.25"
9.5" with scalloped
I hate 9.5 without scalloped

9.5 seems like home to me. Although I'd like to try a 9 or 8.5, for just a l-i-t-t-l-e more curve in it. Some high bends might fret out though.

Multi-radiused neck sounds interesting as well...
Nice and round for chording near the headstock but flatter and more even on the high notes.
I play 9.5" necks...
My next electric will have a Multi-radiused neck profile.
