Hey Folks,
My '07 am. dlx. floating tremelo tends to creep up to e sharp when I'm away from a tuner during the week. when I get to the gig or band practice I've got an unruly tuning problem for about five minutes till it settles down and flies straight. But theres nothing worst than sweating your first 2 songs when your trying to get the audiances cofidence and have an over the top night. I'm sure its a slight adjustment to the spring base in the back of the guitar but any insight on how to get dead on A 440 would be greatly appreciated. I supose I should relief some tension on those screws at the yolk where the springs mount but I'd like to get it right. Thanks

No, only adjust those screws if the bridge plate isn't floating at the right height off of the body (approx. 1/8th inch).

What size strings are you using? Do your strings get hung up in the nut slots? Does your guitar go through big weather variations (in which case the truss rod could be your problem)?

Hard to figure out that problem, as you guessed by all of the questions.

Well thats whats so funny, the bridge seems perfectly perpendictular to the face of the guitar. Its at about an 1/8 from the face of the guitar.
I'm using 9s, that what I bought it with?
I did notice that there is no tention at the truss rod adjustment through the neck plate. but the neck appears the same as the day I bought it. sightly concave but real close to straight. Could this be it?

You don't tune for a week? You know.....all kinds of things can affect tuning. Like changes in temperature, humidity, and other such things. I always know that I have to tune when there's a change in temperature. And I keep having to tune until the guitar adapts to the new temps. After about 15-20 mins.....it seems to stabilize. All my guitars work that way. Even the ones with a fixed bridge.

Yea, my American Series is always going out and then back because of the weather.

Yeah, I'm guilty of not keeping a tuner around at all. I just tune the guitar to itself when I'm playing around the house. Maybe I should tune It good a couple of hour before I take it out on the town. but its funny that its always almost E sharp every week. Thanks for the input :)
