Hi, I apologize if this has been discussed before. I did a search and
couldn't find any threads about this. Does anyone know where you
can find a wiring diagram for an S1 circuit for an S/S/S Strat configuration
with 2 wire pickups? I've looked through the available diagrams online
and none appear to be for 2 wire pickups. Thanks.

I'm thinking that it can't be done.

http://www.fender.com/support/diagrams/pdf_temp1/stratocaster/0101200_02A/SD0101200_02APg2.pdf

But I'm not 100% sure of that.
So maybe somebody wiser will see this "bump" and reply.

It's more than two wires on mine, I remember (was it three or four?). I took one look at that scary little gizmo under the switch and thought, well, it's going to be a long time before I start messing with that! I put my pickguard back on and left well alone.

Not very helpful, eh? Sorry...

Cheers - C

Here's a wiring diagram for a single conductor pickup and a bridge on switch. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wi ... witch_f_bp It's for three single coils, 5 way, 1 volume, 2 tone. I hope that helps.

No good. He's asking specifically about a Strat with the S1 switch under the volume knob. I have an idea multiple pickup wires are needed to achieve the series/parallel options that the S1 system gives.

Reading between the lines, I suspect we have someone who has bought new pickups to do a swap on an S1 equiped guitar and is now discovering there is a little more to it. If he wants to use the new pups I fear he must sacrifice the S1...

Cheers - C

I have been following this thread and come to the same conclusion.

You are correct, except I'm installing an S1 circuit on a regular pickup arrangement Strat. I thought 3 or more wires and at least 1 humbucker
were needed for the S1 type circuit. I've spotted S/S/S configuration prewired pickguards on eBay that have the S1 feature. Before purchasing prewired S1 pots and 5 way switch I asked the person running the auction if it would work on S/S/S setups and was told, yes. I thought if this is true there must be a diagram out there somewhere. I don't know why, but when you ask some sellers for diagrams after you buy something and find out they aren't included, they don't respond to that mail. If they are wiring them and selling them on eBay, a diagram should be available somewhere, shouldn't it?

How many wires do each one of your S-S-S pickups have?

Two, but I do have a set of Lace Sensors that have 3 wires
I can put in it if they will work with this kind of switch setup.

The S-1 switching will only work on pickups with 3 (or more) wires.

On the lace sensors I have 1 is hot, the other 2 are ground. The installation
instructions say that the 2 ground wires should be twisted together and
soldered to ground so these probably wouldn't be considered as 3 wire
pickups that would work, would they?

I'm not sure on that, but I think not.

Ok. Thank you, and the others that responded for your help. I'll
plan on putting this setup in a different guitar then I wanted to use
it in. It has humbuckers and theres a number of S1 diagrams for
those. Thanks again.

Er, but in the first reply in this thread Orvilleowner gave you a diagram for three single-coil pickups with three wires each, via the S1 switch. Will that one not work with your Sensors?

I suppose it would if 2 of the 3 wires on all 3 pickups are ground.
My don't work like they used to and the switch diagram at the bottom
doesn't mention where all the wires go. Does it look like 2 of the 3
end up grounded at the same place?
