a friend dropped my guitar...

This is one reason I install strap locks on all my guitars. I feel alot better about letting someone play my guitar if they have the strap on with strap locks. Not too much they can do to it in that case unless they drop it handing it back to me.

But chips and scratches just add mojo as everyone has already said above.

What a terrible thing, the tone of your guitar will be forever changed. You need to get rid of it before something horrible happens to you. You must send it immediately to the first person that responded to your post.

I am of course just kidding. Your guitar now has character. Play it in good health!!!!

Wait!! He's not kidding! You must send it to the first responder! Really! Like now!

I'd be pissed. That's why I never let my friends handle my guitars.

A buddy of mine let someone tryout his guitar only to find a few days later scratches above the pickguard on the guitar body. Turned out the guy was wearing a bracelet!

Yeah ..... Same here. I keep mine in the case when not being played. And others aren't allowed to play them for that very reason.

I have never liked that abused "relic" look either. Like everybody had sandpaper on their arms and hands, or on their shirt sleeves.
